Leo Lewin
Leo Lewin, 98, M.D., a longtime resident of Mount Arlington, died April 20, 2019. He was born in Paterson and was raised in Dover.
Dr. Lewin established a family medical practice in Mt. Arlington. He was a past president of the former Dover General Hospital medical staff.
He attended medical school at New York University.
He served as a physician in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in the Philippines.
He was a founding member of Temple Shalom in Succasunna. He spent much time on Lake Hopatcong, enjoying activities such as sailing and swimming.
Predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Joyce, and three sons, Michael, David, and James, he is survived by four daughters, Marjorie, Barbara (Geoffrey), Rivkah, and Ruth; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 22 with arrangements by J.L. Apter Memorial Chapels of Dover. Memorial contributions may be made to Jewish Helping Hands.
