Leslie Schulman
Leslie Schulman, 97, of Boynton Beach, Fla., died Jan. 2, 2012. Born in Newark, he lived in Hillside and in Springfield for nearly 40 years before moving to Boynton Beach eight years ago.
Mr. Schulman began his career as a produce inspector for Wakefern Food Corp., Elizabeth, and was later co-owner and operator of Springfield Market in Springfield for over 35 years. He was a past president of both the Louis Rothbard Family Circle and B’nai B’rith Springfield Lodge, of which he was also 1979 Man of the Year. He was a member of Temple Beth Ahm in Springfield, as well as its men’s club and Senior League, and a Lifetime Hadassah Associate in Springfield.
Mr. Schulman was the reigning champion of Northern New Jersey Three Cushion Billiard for many years and was a member of Temple Torah in Boynton Beach.
Predeceased by his wife Mae (Zaker), he is survived by three daughters, Lynda Rosenbaum of Boynton Beach, Karen Vinacour of New York City, and Janet Rejwan of Jerusalem; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 5 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
