Lois Eskin

 Lois S. Eskin, 75, of Fort Lee died Oct. 20, 2013. Born in Newark to the late Helen and Ben Eskin, she resided in New York City for many years before moving to Fort Lee in the mid-1980s.

Ms. Eskin operated a publishing consulting firm, Lois Eskin Associates, from 1987 to 2009. Her company specialized in educational publishing. She previously was editor-in-chief and held various other staff and executive positions, both in marketing and editorial for the school division of Holt, Reinhart and Winston, Inc., and was employed for 18 years from 1969 to 1987. She was also an elementary and high school teacher prior to working for Holt, Reinhart and Winston.

She graduated from high school in Union and Kean College in Union. For her graduate work, she attended Kean, University of Illinois, the University of Cincinnati, and New York University.

She was a member of Mensa, a former member of the Association of Educational Publishers, the managing editor of her co-op’s newsletter, “Horizon News,” and a volunteer at Puffin Cultural Forum in Teaneck.

Predeceased by her parents, Helen and Ben Eskin, and her brother, Paul, she is survived by many cousins, including Karen, Sarah, and Benjamin Dellaripa and Nancy, John, Julia, and Aidan Reilly.

Services were held Oct. 24 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
