Marc David Snyder
Marc David Snyder, 61, died Nov. 17, 2011, in Pompton Plains. He was born in Elizabeth.
Mr. Snyder worked at the Community Health Law Project for 32 years, most recently in Elizabeth, as the managing attorney.
He was a 1968 graduate of Union High School. He graduated magna cum laude from Pennsylvania State University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in history. He graduated from Albany Law School in 1976.
He was awarded the Advocate of the Year Award in 1991 from the Union County Mental Health Association. In 2005, he received the Pro Bono Award from the Morris County Bar Association. He was a member of the board of directors of the Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless. He was a member of the Union County Human Services Advisory Committee and was the board trustee chair for the Morris County Mental Health Association.
He was a member of the Stonington Country Club in Connecticut.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Linda T. of Chatham; his mother, Jean Snyder of Monroe Township; a brother, Gerald of Mystic, Conn.; and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held Nov. 20 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless, 118 Division St., Elizabeth, NJ 07201.
