Margret Sybil Stephan
Margret Sybil Stephan of Upper Montclair died Feb. 5, 2011. Born in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, she fled the Nazis with her mother and brother and settled in New York City. She moved to Upper Montclair 30 years ago.
Mrs. Stephan worked as a quality control chemist for Hoffman La Roche.
She received a chemistry degree from Hunter College and a Judaica degree from Spertus College.
She was a lifetime member of Hadassah.
Predeceased by her son Walter Frederick Stephan, she is survived by her husband of 54 years, Walter Franklin Stephan; two sons, Michael and John; her daughter, Julie Zichelli; and nine grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 8 with arrangements by Louis Suburban Chapels, Fair Lawn.
