Max Berkowitz
Max Berkowitz, 89, of West Orange died July 31, 2011. Born and raised in Paterson, he lived in Lambertville and spent most of his life in Flemington.
Mr. Berkowitz was an agricultural loan specialist for the Farmers Home Administration for many years, retiring in 1988.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a longtime member of the Flemington Rotary, and received the Rotarian of the Year Award and the Paul Harris Fellow Award.
He is survived by his wife Eleanor (Gilinsky); his daughter, Harriet Schneiderman; and a grandson.
Services were held Aug. 2 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to Daughters of Israel, West Orange.
