Melvin Westreich
Melvin Westreich of Morris Plains died April 1, 2019. He was born in Newark and grew up in Keyport. He lived in South Orange for many years before moving to Springfield and later Morris Plains.
Mr. Westreich owned women’s retail clothing stores in Keyport and Matawan.
He graduated from University of North Carolina.
He served in the Army during World War II.
An avid golfer and lover of all sports, he was a member of Greenbrook Country Club.
Predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Carole Stern Westreich, he is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Stuart) Sourifman and Debby (Mark) Landsberg; a sister, Geraldine Kaplan; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 3 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
