More to Eva’s story
I thought your readers might appreciate more information about Eva Heyman and what has happened in her hometown of Oradea, Romania. (Garden State of Mind, “Eva.stories: Believe the hype, ignore the indignation,” May 23).
Thanks to the family of an
Auschwitz survivor, a statue of Eva has been erected in a park in Oradea from where the trains left for Auschwitz. The statue is in the memory of the thousands of children deported from that park.
More information can be seen on their website at tikvah.ro, including a video about Eva and the statue created by volunteers. It was completed before “Eva Stories” on Instagram, but has been used widely in schools.
