Moses Altman
Moses “Moe” Altman, 89, a longtime resident of Berkeley Heights, died Oct. 16, 2019. He was born in Brooklyn.
Mr. Altman had a long career as a chemist at Warner Lambert, Morris Plains, where he worked in the consumer goods division.
He graduated from Stuyvesant High School, New York City, in 1948, and City College of New York in 1952.
He served in Korea with the U.S. Army.
He was a former member of the Berkeley Heights Rescue Squad and an active member of the Summit Old Guard and the Sunday Musicale of West Orange. He also belonged to the Romeos, a retired men’s social group. He was a longtime member of Congregation Ohr Shalom-The Summit Jewish Community Center.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet (Hershowitz); two sons, Jonathan of Bedminster and Michael of Collingswood; and two grandchildren.
