Neil Alan Moiseev

Neil Alan Moiseev, 58, of Springfield died Nov. 17, 2010. He was born in Detroit and lived in Springfield for almost 25 years.

Mr. Moiseev, whose firm is Shen Milson Wilke in New York City, worked in the field of acoustical engineering/consulting for over 30 years. He was widely known and recognized in his field, solving noise and vibration problems in government facilities, hospitals, laboratories, and commercial and residential buildings all over the world.

He was an active member of the acoustical technical committee of American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers, and made many presentations before that group.

He received his bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from the University of Michigan in 1974, and his master’s degree in acoustics from Pennsylvania State University in 1977.

He was an active member of Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael in Springfield for 32 years.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Anne; his daughter, Laura of Arlington, Va.; his son, Robert of Springfield; a brother, Andrew of Huntington Woods, MI; and a sister, Susan of Southfield, MI.

Services were held Nov. 19 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to the College of Engineering-University of Michigan; the general scholarship fund of Pennsylvania State University; the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America; the American Cancer Society; Jewish National Fund; or United Synagogue Youth.
