Norma Benisch

Norma Paul Benisch, 91, of Livingston and Key Largo, Fla., died Aug. 15, 2016. 

Mrs. Benisch graduated from Caldwell High School in 1942, attended Ohio University, and graduated from New York University in 1946.

An active community volunteer, she served on the Speaker’s Bureau of United Jewish Appeal, as chapter and region president of Federation of Jewish Women’s Organizations, national board member of Women’s American ORT, scholarship chair and officer at Jewish Vocational Service of Essex County, and personnel chair and board member of Planned Parenthood of Essex County. She was also an honorary board member of Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel, South Orange, helping to spearhead the preservation and restoration of the KIP/RIKER Mansion. 

She was a member of Mountain Ridge Country Club, West Caldwell, and Ocean Reef Club, Key Largo.

Predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Abner, she is survived by her son, Joel; her daughter, Barbara; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Services were held Aug. 18 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
