Pearl Kaplan
Pearl Kaplan (Lipshultz), 92, of Springfield died Feb. 24, 2018. She was born in Jersey City and moved to Springfield in 1957.
Mrs. Kaplan worked as a full charge bookkeeper for many years. She also was a tour guide at Ellis Island.
She graduated from Lincoln High School, Jersey City, and received an accounting certificate from Rutgers University Extension Division, Jersey City.
She was a member of Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael in Springfield for over 60 years and was active in the Women’s League. She was a life member and president of Springfield Hadassah. She was also a member of Jewish Women International and JCC of Middlesex County, Edison.
Predeceased by her husband, Joel, she is survived by two daughters, Cheryl (Myron) of Kendall Park and Aimee (Kenneth) of Edison; her son, Sam (Marcia) of Teaneck; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 25 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn.
