Pearl Rand of Highland Park died Dec. 21, 2012. She was born in Montreal in 1913 and immigrated to the United States with her family at an early age. She and her husband Herbert moved from Brooklyn to Highland Park in 1973.
Mrs. Rand retired in 1970 from the Caledonian Hospital in Brooklyn, where she was the administrative director in charge of public relations and volunteer services.
She was a charter member of the American Society for Hospital Public Relations Directors of the American Hospital Association.
She was a member of the Highland Park Conservative Temple-Congregation Anshe Emeth and its sisterhood. She was a life member of Hadassah and of various organizations in Israel, and an auxiliary member of the Central New Jersey Home for the Aged.
Predeceased by her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Kenneth) Daniels of Edison; her son, Robert E. of New York City; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 23 with arrangements by Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, New Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish National Fund, Raritan Valley chapter of Hadassah, or HPCT-CAE.
