Pool on the run
There are good ways to beat the heat with your kids.
And then there are the ways that will earn you a ticket for reckless driving from the Israeli police — as a man driving a pickup truck in a rural area near Netanya found out recently.
A pickup truck, it should be noted, that had been turned into a makeshift pool by lining its bed with plastic sheeting and filling it with water.
The kids playing in the water when the truck was pulled over by the cops no doubt were cool; whether the judge at the driver’s upcoming bench trial will be equally cool remains to be seen.
The fact that the driver and his frolicking cargo had previously been spotted driving in traffic probably will be held against him.
