Rita Aronoff
Rita Aronoff (Gould), 90, of West Orange died Jan. 15, 2013. Born in Malden, Mass., she was raised in Springfield, Mass., and also had resided in Hoboken and Weehawken.
Mrs. Aronoff, a violinist who performed professionally on the radio, was a manager at Walter Bauman Jewelers in West Orange.
She received her bachelor’s degree in music education from Lowell State Teachers College in Massachusetts.
She was the past president of the National Council of Jewish Women and Essex County Hadassah and a member of the sisterhood of Temple JCC and B’nai B’rith Women.
Predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Solomon, in 1987, she is survived by two sons, Gerald (Minna Rae) of Charlotte, NC, and Jeffrey of Hudson, NY; her daughter, Susan (Richard) Zimmerman of Randolph; a sister, Barbara Gould of Randolph; and three grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 17 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
