Robert Wegodsky
Robert Wegodsky, 95, of East Brunswick died March 30, 2014. Born in New York City, he resided in Jersey City for many years before moving to East Brunswick five years ago.
Mr. Wegodsky was a teacher in the Jersey City public school system for 40 years and a reference librarian at the Newark Public Library’s main branch prior to his retirement at age 87.
He graduated from University of Oklahoma and held master’s degrees from Columbia and Rutgers universities and Jersey City State College.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II who served in the European Theater.
He was a member of Congregation Poile Zedek, New Brunswick.
Predeceased by his wife, Ethel, in 2005, he is survived by two sons, Jay (Michele) of East Brunswick and Leonard (Renee) of North Shirley, NY; his daughter, Miriam Wegodsky of Jersey City; a sister, Ida Schneider of Holbrook, NY; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services were held March 31 with arrangements by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick.
