Rose Eckstein
Rose Eckstein, 96, of Livingston died Oct. 5, 2018. She was born and raised in New York City and spent her retirement in both Nevada and California before moving to Livingston in 2006.
Mrs. Eckstein taught second grade for 22 years at Dutch Lane School in Hicksville, N.Y. She was named Teacher of the Year several times.
She graduated from Hunter College with a bachelor’s degree in business.
Predeceased by her husband, Albert, in 2006, she is survived by her daughter, Linda Stark; her son, Paul Kamen; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
She was an active member of the JCC MetroWest’s Margulies Senior Center in West Orange.
Services were held Oct. 7 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to JCC MetroWest Margulies Senior Center.
