Ruth Klein Bennett, 92, of Piscataway died Oct. 22, 2013. She was born and raised in New Brunswick.
Mrs. Bennett was employed as an administrative assistant for Rutgers University. She was a co-partner with her husband Steven in Bennett Cabinets for many years.
She was a 1938 graduate of New Brunswick High School.
She was the first woman president and a longtime member of Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple, New Brunswick. She was also a member of the Raritan Valley chapter of Hadassah.
Predeceased by her husband in 1990, she is survived by her son, Michael (Elissa) Bennett; two daughters, Carol (Peter) Collier and Barbara (Keith) Glasgow; a sister, Sally Hindes; and six grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 23 at Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple with arrangements by Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, New Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the Department of Political Science at Rutgers University, c/o Johanna Stephenson, 89 George St., New Brunswick, NJ 08901.
