Ruth Himmelfarb
Ruth Himmelfarb, 83, of Livingston died Oct. 18, 2011. Born in Kippenheim, Germany, she spent most of her childhood and adult life in the Bronx before moving to Livingston within the past year.
Mrs. Himmelfarb worked as a lab technologist for many years in New York.
She was an active member for many years of Kingsbridge Heights Jewish Center in the Bronx as well as the Riverdale Y’s Dora and Harry Simon Senior Center.
Predeceased by her husband of 51 years, William, she is survived by her son, Stuart; her daughter, JoAnn Lee; two sisters, Helene Lipton and Elsie Weltz; and three grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 23 with arrangements by Riverside Memorial Chapels, Mt. Vernon, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Riverdale Y’s Dora And Harry Simon Senior Center, Bronx, NY.
