Salient and sensible
We frequently hear the most partisan pro-Israel community express the same criticisms of Haaretz that they level against The New York Times.
Would we be literate Jews without Joseph Berger, Clyde Haberman, Joseph Lelyveld, Ron Lieber, David Okrent, Bari Weiss, Bret Stephens, et al., and the even younger advancing journalists?
Are you reading the New York Post for literary criticism? Checking the Daily News for reporting about the variety of intellectual forums presented at Jewish institutions throughout the city? Though greatly distressed by the Times’ publication of the cartoon of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Pres. Donald Trump, I know that I will always find thorough and thoughtful news about the world Jewish community in that same newspaper.
I found Rosenblatt’s column salient and sensible.
