Sara Messing

Sara Virginia Drick Messing, 75, of Morgantown, Pa., formerly of West Orange, died April 6, 2017. 

Mrs. Messing practiced law in New Jersey, where she was a 50-year member of the bar and one of the first attorneys to be designated as a certified civil trial attorney in 1980. 

She graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1963 with a B.A. in history and from Albany Law School in 1966 with an LL.B. 

She was a member of Alpha Xi Delta at Ohio Wesleyan, a founding member of the Garden State Theater Organ Society in 1973, and a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also an avid collector of early American pressed glass and children’s tea sets. 

Predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Aaron Ira, she is survived by two sons, Benjamin Raymond of Downingtown, Pa., and Jacob Ralph of New York, NY; and two grandchildren. 

Services were held April 10 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to “Aaron and Virginia Messing Scholarship” at Ohio Wesleyan University.
