Saul Karlin
Saul Eugene “Gene” Karlin, 87, of Union died June 24, 2014. Born in Newark, he lived in Reading, Pa., before moving to Union in 1954.
Before his retirement 15 years ago, Mr. Karlin had been involved with broadcasting for his entire 50-year career. He was last employed for 15 years as a television engineer for ABC in New York City.
He was a veteran who served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War.
He was active with Jewish War Veterans in Springfield and the American Radio Relay League. He was a member of the Millburn Camera Club.
He is survived by his wife, Miriam (Chadwick); two sons, Andrew of Robbinsville and Lyle of Westfield; and four grandchildren.
Services were held June 25 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
