Selichot in Wayne
Temple Beth Tikvah offers a community Selichot program on Saturday, September 13. Homemade desserts will be served at 7 p.m.; there will be music by student cantor Carly Levin Santalone at 7:20; and the dedication of an accessible Torah reading stand in memory of Gail Okun is at 7:35.
At 7:45, there will be a screening of the documentary “Commandment 613.” Afterward, TBT’s Torah scribe, Rabbi Kevin Hale, will lead a discussion about the shul’s Torah scroll, which is from Brno, Czech Republic, was rescued after the Holocaust, and now has been repaired. There will also be a parade celebrating the Torah’s return to the shul. A candlelight service follows at 9:15. For information, go to www.templebethtikvahnj.org.
