Seymour Cutler

Seymour Cutler, 87, of Millburn died March 4, 2012. Born in Brooklyn, he resided in the Bronx as well as Newark.

Mr. Cutler, an optician, worked for Test Rite Optical in Newark for 27 years and then for Pearl Vision Center, which he purchased and operated until his retirement in 1996.

He obtained his professional license to practice optometry in 1948.

He served in the Army/Air Force during World War II as a private first class, military policeman and was part of the 351st Bombardment Squadron’s 100th Bombardment Group.

He was also a maitre d’ and head waiter at the Short Hills Caterers for 20 years.

He was a dedicated volunteer at St. Barnabas Medical Center for 15 years up until a week before his death.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Clarice Lasky; his daughter, Patti Weiss of Springfield; his son, Michael of Huntington Station, NY; a brother, Jack of Stony Point; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held March 6 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
