Sophie Lubka
Sophie Lubka (Rosenzweig), 96, of West Orange died Nov. 21, 2019. Born in Pabiance, Poland, she was a Holocaust survivor who later moved to West Hartford, Conn., where she resided for over 50 years.
A lifetime member of Beth David Synagogue, West Hartford, and also of Hadassah, Mrs. Lubka was a supporter of Yad Vashem, and provided extensive recorded testimony of her survival.
Predeceased by her husband, Felix, whom she married in Germany in 1946, she is survived by two daughters, Sarah (Michael) Goetz of New City, N.Y., and Lilly (Irv) Cantor of Jerusalem; her son, Mark (Lisa) Lubka of Simsbury, Conn.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 25 with arrangements by Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford, Conn. Memorial contributions may be made to Yad Vashem World Holocaust Center, Jerusalem.
