Springfield shul is expanding

Congregation Israel of Springfield recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for an expansion of the existing shul building on Mountain Avenue. The community, led by Rabbi Chaim Marcus, members, leaders, and local dignitaries, including Mayor Harris Laufer, were there. For the last 25 years, Rabbi Marcus has led CIS. Under his leadership, the community has experienced growth, especially among younger families with children. This expansion and renovation project serves as a reflection of the shul’s continued investment in its future.

The event drew a robust showing of township and community leadership, led by Mayor Laufer, with local dignitaries eager to take part in this important milestone for CIS and the broader Springfield community. Their enthusiastic presence reflected the strong relationship the shul has built with the township.
