Stanley Leitstein
Stanley Leitstein, 82, of Manchester died March 2, 2013. He was born and raised in Brooklyn and raised his family in Ocean Township.
Mr. Leitstein served in the U.S. Army Security Agency, then worked at Fort Monmouth.
He was a 20-plus-year member of the Wanamassa Fire Company & First Aid Squad, where he served as chief, captain, and an elected member of the Board of Fire Commissioners. He was chancellor commander of the Long Branch Knights of Pythias. He was a member of the Renaissance Men’s Club, Jewish Heritage Club, Brooklyn Club, and Congregation B’nai Israel in Toms River.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dolores “Debby” Boss, three daughters, Linda (Vincent) Mango of Howell, Diane (Brian) Diedrich of Western Springs, Ill., and Judith (Richard) Small of Westport, Conn.; two sisters, Florence Slotnick of Albuquerque, NM, and Bernice Solomon of Tamarac, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.
Services were held at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, with arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean.
