Studying Exodus
“Let My People Know,” a new 10-week course on the biblical book of Exodus — begins on Monday, January 16, at 7 p.m., both in person, at the Chabad Center of Northwest NJ’s educational center in Rockaway Township, and online. Rabbi Asher Herson is teaching the course; each session is self-contained, and students can join at any time.
Exodus tells the story of the creation of the Jewish people and the receiving of the Torah on Mount Sinai. Its heartwarming lessons establish the principles of the Torah and of Judaism. “With the aid of classic talmudic and kabbalistic sources, the classes will help each student apply the timeless messages of the biblical passages to circumstances and experiences of everyday life,” Rabbi Herson said.
Classes will use a textbook with user-friendly texts and a collection of thought-provoking resource material. The Torah studies course, textbook, and PowerPoint presentations were developed by a team of Talmud professors under the auspices of the Jewish Learning Institute.
This course, along with others to come, is sponsored in honor of the year of hakhel (Gathering) that occurs once every seven years. For more information, call (973) 625-1525, ext. 227, go to www.OneTorahWay.org, or email RabbiHerson@OneTorahWay.org.
