Summer kicks off Sunday in Montclair
The Montclair Center hosts “Summer Sunday,” the official kick-off to summer, with an outdoor shopping experience on Sunday, June 23, starting at 1 p.m. The day of festivities themed “Summer Holiday!” includes many activities, shopping, a diverse range of music, from jazz to contemporary, and dining. There will also be 8-foot-wide murals that offer families coloring adventures; materials will be provided, outside Fleet Feet at 603 Bloomfield Ave., and Kreme & Krumb at 147 Bloomfield Ave.
There will also be a DJ and dance lessons with Latinos of Montclair at Wellmont Plaza, a drag show at Porta, and a special brunch at Fresco da Franco. Montclair Film will offer a free outdoor screening of “Barbie,” directed by Greta Gerwig, at sundown on Lackawanna Plaza near Crane Park. There will be pre-show music starting at 7:15 p.m. Bring lawn chairs and dress as your favorite Barbie, Ken, or Allan character. The rain date will be June 30.
