Toby Messer
Toby Messer (Pressman), 85, of Randolph died May 31, 2014. She moved to Randolph in 1948.
Mrs. Messer was actively involved with her husband in the running of The Messer Farm, a seasonal resort which accommodated numerous families from the metropolitan area. The site is now occupied by the Harbor Hills Day Camp.
She was active with numerous causes in the Morris County area. She was a life member of Hadassah, active in the activities of the PG Chambers School, and an active volunteer for Easter Seals. She worked on behalf of Jewish patients in Greystone Park. She was a life member and past president of the sisterhood of Mount Freedom Jewish Center, where she was also an honorary synagogue board trustee.
Predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Solomon, in 2010, she is survived by four sons, Michael (Marsha) of North Caldwell, Howard (Sonya) of Ulster, NY, Irwin (Alexandra) of Quogue, NY, and Edward (Maureen) of Randolph; a sister, Sylvia Cherna of Whippany; a brother, Howard Pressman of Albany, NY; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held June 2 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
