Torah Circle
JUST HOURS before the start of Chanukah on Dec. 2, hundreds of children and teens took part in a Torah Circle at the Friendship Circle’s new facility, LifeTown, The Jerry Gottesman Center. The 53,000-square-foot building in Livingston, when fully operational, will host all FC programs, offering recreational, therapeutic, and educational programs for children, teens, and young adults with special needs. Its centerpiece will be the Life Village, whose “stores” and “workplaces” will provide the setting for active simulated work and life training.
The Torah Circle has been held at Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy in Livingston for the last two years while LifeTown was under construction.
“This was an amazing Chanukah gift that will continue to give for many years to come,” said LifeTown CEO Rabbi Zalman Grossbaum. “The energy and excitement was beyond anything that we could have imagined.” He went on to offer thanks “to all those who made this dream possible through their hard work, dedication, and generosity.”
