Walker’s evil

You are too kind to Alice Walker, who recommended that singer Alicia Keys join the cultural boycott of Israel (“The banality of Walker,” June 6).

Walker calls Israel “unbelievably evil,” which your column correctly defines as “inhuman, irredeemable, undeserving of understanding and immune to change.” At the same time your headline calls Walker “banal,” which in my dictionary means “ordinary, drearily predictable, trite.” Walker is an enemy of Israel and her words meant to encourage the boycott are more than banal. They are evil.
