Jack Antonoff gives new meaning to the old adage “local boy makes good.”

Antonoff grew up in Bergen County and graduated from Solomon Schechter in New Milford. He is the first producer/songwriter to earn Grammy nominations in three major categories — Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year — and his work on soundtracks has included another nomination for Best Song Writing for Visual Media.

So far, he’s won 11 Grammys, including Producer of the Year three consecutive times, in 2022, 2023, and 2024. As part of the band Fun, he was awarded Best New Artist and Song of the Year for We Are Young.

We’ve reported on his success many times, including in an interview, “More powerful than a locomotive,” by Joseph Leichman in 2010. This is from that story:

“‘We learned so much being kids and playing shows,’ said Antonoff about his early band days. ‘We worked so hard, practiced all the time, played tons of shows. It was only about the performance and the music in those days. We really didn’t consider anything else. That’s the sentiment that still exists at the core of us today. I don’t know where we would be if not for the lessons we learned growing up in the New Jersey scene.”

Mazel tov, Jack. You make us all proud.
