Blessing pets in Cedar Grove

On August 14, Temple Sholom of West Essex congregants gathered with their faithful furry friends, cats and dogs, to celebrate Rosh Hashanah La’Behemot – the Jewish New Year for Animals.

Cantor Stephanie Wright and Rabbi Laurence Groffman led the group with blessings and songs on the synagogue grounds. It was rumored that some dogs even howled along in harmony.
