Frederick Rosenberg

Frederick Martin Rosenberg of Boca Raton, Fla., died Sept. 28, 2017. He was born and raised in Newark and also had lived in West Orange.

Mr. Rosenberg was a public relations and advertising executive and professional photographer. 

He attended Weequahic High School, Newark, a star player who  played both offense and defense on its football team. He accepted a football scholarship at Upsala College, starring on its varsity football team, and was a member of Theta Epsilon fraternity. He enrolled in graduate studies at Rutgers University.

He joined the U.S. Navy in 1948 as a seaman.

He spent much of his spare time as a creative and journalistic photographer, spending hours on New York streets and photographing politicians such as Presidents John F. Kennedy and Dwight Eisenhower and artists such as Allen Ginsberg and Ornette Coleman. His photography has been displayed at the National Arts Club in New York and is on permanent display at several museums. 

He is survived by his wife, Frances; his daughter, Jane (Andrew) Saidenberg; his son, Glenn (Leah Hill); a brother, Jerome Rosenberg; and four grandchildren. 

Services were held Oct. 4 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to Trustbridge, a home health and hospice care facility.
