United Hatzalah holds its New York gala
United Hatzalah will hold its annual New York gala on June 15, at 5:30 p.m., in Lower Manhattan. Ambassador Ron Dermer, the Hero of Israel awardee, will be in conversation with David Blitzer. Modi (Rosenfeld), the Israeli-American standup comedian and actor, is the Beacon of Joy award-winner. Siblings Brandon and Casey Lutnick are the Young Leadership co-chairs. Bar Kupershtein, who was held hostage in Gaza for 738 days, will be there as well.
The evening pays tribute to the emergency rescue organization, and to its network for more than 8,100 volunteers, trained and certified as EMTs, paramedics, or doctors, who respond to medical emergencies, day or night, seven days a week, 365 days a year — with a goal of arriving at any emergency across Israel within 90 seconds.
