Local OU rabbis go to Israel

Rabbis Yaakov Glasser of Young Israel of Passaic/Clifton, Chaim Marcus of Congregation Israel in Springfield, James Proops of the Suburban Torah Center in Livingston, Larry Rothwachs of Congregation Beth Aaron in Teaneck, and Chaim Strauchler of Teaneck’s Congregation Rinat Yisrael were among the group representing 24 American shul communities of rabbis and lay leaders on OU’s mission to Israel. The aim was to bring chizuk (encouragement); the group was formed by the Orthodox Union’s Department of Community Engagement.

The project began with a recent Israel mission organized by the department and OU Israel for 42 pulpit rabbis and lay leaders, representing a broad spectrum of Orthodox communities.
