New cantor for Livingston shul
Emily Simkin will begin her role as the new cantor at Temple B’nai Abraham Livingston in July. Cantor Simkin graduated from Berklee College of Music magna cum laude, and she earned a master’s degree in sacred music at of Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion. She combines her love of Jewish tradition with musical expertise, offering services and educational programs that are meaningful, accessible, and inclusive for congregants of all ages.
“We are excited to welcome Cantor Emily Simkin to Temple B’nai Abraham,” B’nai Abraham’s senior rabbi, David Vaisberg, said. “Her passion, creativity, beautiful voice, and warmth will be a tremendous asset to our congregation as we continue to grow and strengthen our community.”
Cantor Simkin has worked in congregations across New Jersey, New York, Maryland, and Hawaii, developing innovative religious school curricula, engaging youth and adult learners, and crafting worship experiences.
