Shabbat in Scotch Plains

Temple Sholom participates in the Refugee Shabbat project of HIAS (Hebrew Immigration Aide Society). Aisha Mukaruyonza shares her story of coming to the United States from Uganda, via Rwanda, and becoming a U.S. citizen. She is an alumnus of Refugee Assistance Partners of NJ, a refugee assistance program offered by RAP, a Scotch Plains non-profit. Temple Sholom is one of RAP’s partner organizations, and was one of five NJ congregations to receive a Pathways Leadership award from HIAS in 2024. 7:30 p.m. office@sholomnj.org or (908) 889-4900.
