Sheila Kalisher

Sheila Lynn Kalisher (Cohen), 74, of Livingston died Feb. 13, 2019. She was born in Detroit.

Mrs. Kalisher was a former high school English teacher and patented inventor. In 1986, she founded an invention company named A.L.L.’S. WELL & CO. She was also very active in the National Society of Inventors (NSI) in Clark and held most offices, including president. She developed a “ladies” greeting card line, Astrological Tributes, which, in 2003, was selected to be given out in the gift bags for the Daytime Emmy Awards in New York. In 2012, she published her second card line under “Ladies of the Zodiac,” a collection of 12 ladies that is her intellectual property. She also held a patent on a fishing utility system called the “tackle box belt” that was inspired by her son’s love of fishing and the need for better storage and access to fishing bait and supplies.

She attended University of Michigan and graduated with a liberal arts and combined secondary education degree from Wayne State University in Detroit.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Lester; her son, Aaron (Deb Cohan Kalisher); her daughter, Lisa Kalisher (Luis) Rivero; a sister, Judy Harwood; a brother, Stuart Cohen; and three grandchildren.

Services were held Feb. 17 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
