Were you in Lower Manhattan or at the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001? Did you work for a company that lost employees? Did you work in the rescue and recovery efforts after the attacks? If so, we invite you to submit your story to the permanent collection in the Voices of September 11th Living Memorial archive. The archive contains tributes to the nearly 3,000 lives lost and documents the firsthand accounts of rescue workers and survivors. The 9/11 Living Memorial includes over 70,000 photographs, pieces of written material, and personal keepsakes.
At the archive’s New Brunswick office, staff members will meet with you to record your story. You are welcome to bring photographs, written material, or other 9/11 material to be scanned and included in the archive. Those who have participated in the Living Memorial recordings have said that sharing their story has been a healing experience.
Founded in 2002, the Living Memorial also provides long-term support services to members of the 9/11 community, advocates for reforms to make our countrysafer, and provides assistance to those affected by mass trauma.
