Adolf Krongold

Adolf Krongold, 97, of Tinton Falls died Feb. 18, 2011. Born in Staten Island, he later moved to Brooklyn and then lived in Clifton for over 50 years before moving to Tinton Falls 10 years ago.

Mr. Krongold was an engineer who worked as a test pilot for Brewster Aeronautics during World War II. He worked for Alsco Aluminum Corporation in Clifton and was instrumental in the development of the triple track storm window.

He was very active in the Clifton Jewish Center for many years; he also founded “Seniors for the Boys & Girls Club of Clifton.”

He was an active member of the Jewish Center at Seabrook Village as well as an active participant in the Wood Working Shop and the Arts and Craft Center, where he worked on many projects, including the design and creation of original pieces of stained glass.

Predeceased by his wife, Freda, in 2004, he is survived by his son, Barry of Little Falls; his daughter, Carol Wilk of Eatontown; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held Feb. 20 with arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean.
