Aharon Frisch
Aharon Frisch, 82, of Manchester died Nov. 6, 2010. He was born in Bekescseba, Hungary, in 1928.
Mr. Frisch, whose six brothers and sisters and his mother were all murdered in the Holocaust, survived the slave labor camp at Muldorf, Germany, and immigrated to Israel in 1946. He volunteered to serve during Israel’s War of Independence in 1948 and also fought in the Sinai war of 1956. In Israel he worked in construction as a private contractor and as a construction supervisor.
In 1961 he immigrated to the United States with his family and settled in New York. He worked in the construction industry and was responsible for the rehabilitation of many buildings in Manhattan. In 1975 the family moved to Bradley Beach. In 1978 he retired from construction but continued to work with his wife, Rebecca, in their clothing store in Bradley Beach.
He regularly donated to local public agencies and to Jewish and Israeli organizations. He was a member of Agudath Achim in Bradley Beach.
He is survived by his wife, whom he married in 1948; two daughters, Sarah of Manchester and Carmella Laster of Airmont, NY; his son, Samuel of Manalapan, 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 7 with arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean.
