JFS gala is planned for May 27
Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ has announced the award recipients it will honor at the JFS annual gala on May 27. The gala’s focus will be on “Supporting Today, Strengthening Tomorrow.” It will honor local leaders whose service and compassion uplift people in need and help build a stronger future for everyone JFS serves.
Pam Fishman of Short Hills is this year’s Community Impact awardee. Jerry Rose Inc., a floral and event design company in Summit/Maplewood, will receive the JFS Community Partner award. Pamela Davis of Short Hills is this year’s JFS Ambassador awardee, and Bill Steinhauer of West Orange will receive the Maxine Myers Volunteer award.
Pam Fishman began volunteering with JFS in 2009, joining the Rachel Coalition steering committee and later becoming its chair. In 2018, she joined the JFS board, where she has actively participated on many committees. She is the treasurer and sits on the JFS executive committee, working with JFS staff and board members to enhance the reach of JFS’s essential mental health and social service programs. She also is a trustee for the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey. She is supported by her husband, Michael, and her daughter, Anna.
Jerry Rose Inc. is a floral and event design company based in Summit, with a retail shop in Maplewood. The company was founded by Jerry Rose and reflects his respect for beauty, tradition, and the role of celebration in bringing people together. Under Mr. Rose’s creative direction, the company specializes in floral design and event environments for celebrations, gatherings, and home and garden installations. Committed to community involvement, Jerry Rose Inc. contributes time, creativity, and support to organizations and initiatives that strengthen the social fabric of the region. Jerry Rose has been partnering with JFS MetroWest for many years, elevating its fundraising events with thoughtful, elegant floral arrangements. More recently, it has encouraged JFS to use its floral creations to raise funds to support JFS programs and services.
Pamela Davis began her volunteer work with JFS in 2017, through the NextGen committee. She joined the JFS board and the executive committee. She was vice president of fundraising and chairs the JFS nominating committee. She is on the board at the Golda Och Academy and is a member of the Ambassador Circle at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. She has three children and devotes her time and energy to her family, philanthropy, and giving back to her community.
Bill Steinhauer has been volunteering with JFS since 2022. He has served in Cafe Europa, Reading Buddies, Listen to Children, and meal delivery. He is dedicated to serving Holocaust survivors.
The JFS gala raises essential funds that support mental health counseling; older adult services; emergency assistance; support for survivors of domestic violence through the Rachel Coalition, which is a division of JFS, and a wide range of programs that help individuals and families build stability and resilience.
