JEWISH VOCATIONAL Service of MetroWest (JVS) has received a $20,000 Major Grant  from the Provident Bank Foundation to support its vocational rehabilitation services.

JVS works to meet the needs of underserved individuals with physical, intellectual, and/or developmental disabilities and to help its participants prepare to enter the workforce. The grant was awarded based on JVS’s record of having fulfilled these goals.

JVS CEO Michael Andreas said he is “honored and delighted” to receive the grant. “We recently doubled the size of our Career Discovery Center and have expanded to a new location in Montclair,” he said. “These funds will enable us to utilize state-of-the-art technology as we work with our program participants to evaluate their strengths and unique abilities, create individualized vocational plans, and help them create paths by which they will work to achieve their career goals.”

The check was presented on Sept. 4 at the JVS facility in East Orange.

“The Provident Bank Foundation is honored to help further initiatives that are making a difference in the lives of residents in our local area,” said foundation executive director Jane Kurek.
