Kahal Chaverim celebrates 25 years

Kahal Chaverim, the New Jersey Congregation for Humanistic Judaism, celebrated its 25th anniversary with a dinner party in Rockaway. Guests included Kahal Chaverim members, members of other Society for Humanistic Judaism congregations, and Paul Golin, the society’s executive director.

Rob Agree, Kahal Chaverim’s ceremonial leader and co-founder, was given the Lifetime Achievement award by its president, Steve Shaw, honoring his dedicated service for the past 25 years. Mr. Agree has conducted High Holiday, Shabbat, Havdalah, b’nai mitzvah, and other holiday celebrations and has helped many, including children in the KC Sunday school.

Kahal Chaverim supports social action projects in its members’ communities. It aims to grow and expand Humanistic Judaism throughout northern New Jersey. For information, go to www.kahalchaverim.org.
