New course on Leviticus starts this week

Rabbi Asher Herson
Rabbi Asher Herson

“Leviticus Live,” a new 10-week course offered in person and on Zoom, on the biblical Book of Leviticus, begins on Monday, March 27, at 7:45 p.m., at the Chabad Educational in Rockaway Township. Rabbi Asher Herson will teach the course; each session is self-contained and students can join at any time.

“We are very excited about offering this new course,” Rabbi Herson said. “The Book of Leviticus, the ‘mid-book’ of the Five Books of Moses, delves into some of the most spiritual and practical principles of the Torah. The definition of unconditional love, positive thinking, conflict resolution, gratitude, and never judging others are just some of the topics which will be covered. When studied thoroughly – with the aid of classic Talmudic and kabbalistic sources — one would be hard pressed to find more pertinent and applicable material.”

The course will use a newly created textbook that contains user-friendly texts, along with a collection of thought-provoking resource material developed by a team of talmudic professors under the auspices of the Jewish Learning Institute.

This course, along with others to come, are sponsored in honor of the year of Hakhel (gathering), which occurs once every seven years.  The course fee, including textbook, is $36, and scholarships are available. For more information and to register, call (973) 625-1525, ext. 227, email RabbiHerson@OneTorahWay.org, or go to www.OneTorahWay.org.
