Scotch Plains shul has new directors
Lesley Lewkowicz is the new executive director and Suzan Chaiklin is the new director of education at Congregation Beth Israel in Scotch Plains
Ms. Lewkowicz has experience in synagogue administration, Jewish communal engagement, and organizational operations. She brings more than a decade of hands-on leadership across synagogues, educational programs, and community-focused organizations. Before coming to CBI, she was the executive director of Congregation B’nai Tikvah in North Brunswick for six years.
Suzan Chaiklin’s Jewish education experience includes teaching Hebrew language at religious schools. She has been the director of education and religious school director at Morristown Jewish Center, where she was also the director of Lifelong Learning. She was the head teacher at Temple B’nai Abraham in Livingston and Adath Shalom in Morris Plains.
