‘Prayer for Peace’ at Carnegie Hall

Jewish, Christian, and Muslim peace songs will be featured at the Seton Hall University and MidAtlantic Opera’s “A Prayer for Peace” concert on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 8 p.m. in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall. One third of the proceeds will be donated to the United Nations Human Rights Council for refugee relief.

Manya Gaver, granddaughter of Holocaust survivor Luna Kaufman of Watchung — a charter member of the NJ Commission on Holocaust Education, author, and former chair of the Sister Rose Thering Endowment for Education in Jewish-Christian Studies at Seton Hall University, will be among the Greater MetroWest Jewish community residents performing.

The event will feature the Seton Hall University Chorus, performing with the MidAtlantic Opera Orchestra and Chorus, and internationally renowned soloists Mihai Marica, Rochelle Bard, Sara Murphy, Ray Chenez, Theodore Chletsos, and Kevin Short, all under the baton of Jason Tramm of the College of Communication and the Arts.

The program will feature music representing the three Abrahamic faiths.

Tickets for the concert range from $10 to $90; visit carnegiehall.org or contact 212-247-7800. For information, contact Tramm at 908-337-8840 or jason.tramm@shu.edu.
