Purim in West Orange

The community came together, most in costume, for a lively Purim celebration on March 2, for an evening with Megillah readings, including a children’s reading with a modern AI-generated slideshow. There was an interactive game where kids used chips to cover the names of Haman and other Purim story characters on a board, and there also was music, singing, and dancing. After the celebration, teams of yeshiva students visited private homes to read the Megillah and share the joy of Purim late into the night.
On Purim day, March 3, volunteers delivered more than 350 Purim gifts, including a 3D paper model of the story of Purim in Persia, Queen Esther, King Ahasuerus, Haman, and Mordechai. Chabad also visited seniors and led a Megillah reading at the JCC MetroWest. The holiday ended with a grand Purim feast with a meal, lively music, dancing, and a magical comedy show with Vince.
